Master Baker Martin
of the BakerHall
44th day of Spring, Nineteenth Turn of the Tenth Pass, Baker Hall, Ista Hold
Baker Sitting Room
As one looks at this cozy room, one might be reminded of a
kitchen. Hard stone walls are covered with tapestries of brown
and golden-yellow. On the northernmost wall is a large tapestry.
On it is the Bakercraft seal: On a rich brown disk, outlined in
gold, a single golden shaft of wheat stands. Off to the sides are
many small couches for people to sit, rest, think and talk. Among
the couches, and on both sides of the entrance, are small
end-tables with trays of goodies, both warm and cold, on them.
((OOC: Check rooms for directions.))
You smell food!
Obvious exits: Ista Hold Kitchen
Martin waddles in from the Baker CM's Office.
Irascible blinks in and swoops around the room, diving near
Kaetetrini and finally setting down top of Trini's Convenient
Cot. He warbles irritatedly.
Kaetetrini stands up as she sees the Master Baker enter the room,
and gives him a little curtesy. Her red curls stick to her
forehead with the layer of sweat the heat seems to bring forth
from her, and her rosy cheeks (though rosy with sunburn instead
of chill) glow in the low light. She keeps her eyes on the floor
respectuflly, giving a quick glance and frown to Irascible,
before curtiesying again, "Master Martin," she says in
a low, quiet, soft voice.
Martin smiles, "Good morning my dear, What brings you hear
to Ista?"
From Kaetetrini's shoulder, Asphodel gives a quick chirp to the
unwelcome brown, before turning her swirling eyes on Martin.
Irascible ruffles his wings slightly and folds them in. His head
turns to Asphodel, and he chirps, annoyedly, back.
Kaetetrini's eyes go from the floor to Master Martin, did he not
get her letter? Has he forgotten? Does he not want her here? She
bites her bottom lip and says very quietly, "You were going
to give me a recipe, Master....." oh dear, what if he did
forget, and here she is, in front of the Master Baker, looking
like an idiot! Or what if he got word about her behavior in Ista
Weyr, or what if she spent too long visiting with Toren, her
fostersister.......
From Kaetetrini's shoulder, Asphodel turns her gaze, swirling
orange in the sea of green to Irascible, and chops her mouth at
him, annoying thing.
Martin blinks for a few moments, trying to remember, the all of a
sudden, "Oh yes, I must have forgot, I've been very busy of
late,
Martin suffles though the folder he is carrying pulling out a
hide, "Yes, yes, I knew there was a reason I stuck this in
here."
Relief floods through Trini's little body, thank /goodness/! He
had her scared for a moment. She smiles as she goes through the
folder, the *Master Baker* is giving her a recipe!!! Her!
JusTrini!!
From Kaetetrini's shoulder, Asphodel chitters and chops her mouth
again in the brown's direction.
Kaetetrini puts her hand up to her shoulder absently, to scratch
Asphodel on the brow, *Stop it,* the thinks as hard as she can,
*this is the Master Baker.*
Martin hands over the hide, "This is my sweet squishy
recipe, I created it my first turn as craftmaster."
Kaetetrini takes the hide, and glances at it, before her face
breaks out in a wide smile, and she curtesies again, "Thank
you, Master Martin!!" she beams, trying to keep her
excitement contained to a lady-like level.
Martin nods, "But of course, I would do anything for my
bakers."
Kaetetrini bounces, unable to contain herself, "Thank you
Master Martin!" she says again, folding the hide in half,
"I greatly apprecitate y'takin' th'time out t'do this,"
she nods, the curls that aren't stuck to her face bouncing wetly,
"Thank you!" she backs up, so hasn't turns her back on
him, that would be rude, and picks up her rucksack, "Is
there anythin' y'd like fer me t'take t'Paradise Island?"
she asks, "I'm goin' o'er there, t'see Master Sybil."
